Govt Medical College Baramulla & Associated Hospital celebrated National Doctors Day today on, 01 July 2022 with zeal and enthusiasm and much fervour. This day is dedicated to all the doctors and Healthcare workers of the country who have tirelessly and selflessly been serving the people of the country particularly in fighting the long battle with the Covid 19. All the dignitaries including Worthy Principal, Deputy Commissioner, Senior Superintendent of Police, Head of the Departments, local political figures, administrative officials/Officers had an enthralling and rejuvenating interaction with the doctors, students and all the participants. The Principal Dr. (Prof) Ruby Reshi highlighted the role played by the Covid 19 warriors and sensitised the audience regarding the Covid-19 warriors who fought tirelessly when whole humanity was under terror of virus; who sacrificed their sleep and family and fought valiantly against an unknown enemy. Principal Madam elucidated and explained the concept of the Medical College/school: “Medical School has evolved over the centuries of evolving human thought process driven by experimentation, evaluation and constant paradigm shifts. The prime mandate of the Medical College is to preserve specialized knowledge and train the future healers of the humanity. This institution has enjoyed noble status across time, space and cultures; and the reason for the same has time and again been proved. All across the globe, the Medical School has its own independent existence though subjected to the administrative regulations but more so to the protocols which preserve its scientific integrity”. Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar also shared the views stressing on the roles and responsibilities of the Doctors & deep people’s faith /expectations on the doctors. In addition, many doctors reminiscing about their respective memories shared their emotional anecdotes. Later doctors and paramedical staff were felicitated and certificates were distributed as a token of appreciation for the selfless and unflinching services.
