GMC Baramulla Hosts Inaugural Tumor Board Meeting to Enhance Cancer Patient Management

The first-ever Tumor Board meeting was convened at GMC Baramulla, marking a significant step forward in enhancing cancer patient management and care. The meeting, chaired by the Principal, Dr (Prof) Ruby Reshi, brought together specialists from diverse medical domains to strategize and collaborate for improved patient outcomes. Led by Dr. Lone Maqbool, the Chairperson, of the Tumor Board meeting set the stage for productive discussions and exchanges among the attending experts. Dr Maqbool presented an overview of the board's purpose, scope, and operational approach, emphasizing the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to cancer care. The meeting encompassed in-depth deliberations on a range of pertinent subjects, with a collective focus on refining cancer patient management strategies. The specialists from various departments shared their insights and experiences, paving the way for collaborative efforts to address the complexities of cancer diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care. Furthermore, besides the welfare of the patients, the board is also aimed to help in the education of resident doctors, interns and students.
