Mission & Purpose
The Department of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy was established at Government Medical College, Baramulla in 2019. It has been a matter of immense pleasure and honour to head the department in its nascent years. As the branch of dermatology has evolved immensely over the years, the department at Government Medical College, Baramulla has grown beyond leaps and bounds. Ever since its inception, the department of dermatology has been performing multiple roles of treating patients, promoting academic activities and teaching undergraduate students. It has been my continuous endeavor that the academic activities in our department are continuously geared up and monitored to cope with emerging trends in dermatology. The holistic development of students is focused on, which instils the development of habits of continued learning and sense of responsibility to contribute towards the betterment of society. The department has been on a high growth path with a dedicated staff with strong commitment to the advancement of the department. The newer equipment and techniques are being introduced in the department at a scorching pace. I am sure that our department of dermatology is going to occupy a noticeable place among the top dermatological institutes of the country in the near future.
